“Concert on the Green

Come celebrate the 1st Anniversary of the Center's Grand Opening

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

On Saturday, November 15th, from 12:00pm until 4:00pm in the afternoon, the Anna Maria Island Community Center is holding a celebratory FREE concert outside on our fields.  It’s the 1st Anniversary of the Center’s Grand Opening! We invite you to bring your lawn chairs and beach blankets…bring your kids, your friends and neighbors! Sit back and enjoy the camaraderie of our wonderful “islanders” and listen to some AWESOME music!

The featured band is Yesterdayze, a high energy six-piece band with great vocals, re-creating your favorite songs from the 60's...the era that changed modern music forever! Every tune a Top-40 hit from 1960 to 1969: The Beatles, The Stones, the 5th Dimension, Steppenwolf, The Rascals. From Motown to the British Invasion, from Elvis to Hendrix, from Aretha to Warwick, Yesterdayze delivers a non-stop blast-from-the-past you'll never forget! Dig out your old tie-dyed T-Shirts and Peace necklaces – find your groove!

We ask that participants not bring any food or drink to the concert as we will have a variety of food, beer, sodas and water for sale.

In order to be able to offer a FREE concert, AMICC is looking for individuals and organizations to underwrite the cost of the band. If you are interested in being an Event Sponsor, THANK YOU!!

We are also looking for vendors to sell food, drinks, crafts and organization information at this event. If you’re interested, please fill out the form on the other side. Should you have any questions, please call Sandee at (941) 778-1908 at extension 0.

S.H.A.R.E. PROGRAM

The Island Community Center is a host site for S.H.A.R.E. (Self Help And Resource Exchange). Each month SHARE distributes food at up to 50% savings through a network of community organizations hosted by volunteers. A basic SHARE package costs $18.00 (cash only) and consists of frozen meats, fresh produce and grocery items. SHARE food is purchased off the national market from growers and producers. It is quality food found in major grocery chains. Other packages are available as well to meet participant’s needs. SHARE is open to everyone! It is a self-supporting, non-profit program and actually gains strength through participation. In addition to saving money on food, participants can contribute volunteer service to their communities. For more information, please call Sandee at 778-1908 ext. 0.

Lester Family Fun Day

December 6, 2008
Chuck and Joey Lester are wonderful supporters of the Anna Maria Island Community Center. Their philanthropic spirit works year round for island youth and their families. The Family Fun Day was their idea in 2002. They wanted to have old-fashioned FUN at old-fashioned prices. There’s always a fantastic turnout during such a busy time of year! There are smiles and laughter and holiday tidings for friends old and new. There’s Old St. Nick’s arrival by fire truck, performances by little ballerinas, Bingo, crafts, a fishing pond, raffles, Turkey & Ham give-a-ways and food galore!
